 | Involvement with a number of prestigious projects within the defence sector puts Pinacl Solutions in a strong position. Due to the high security and process restrictions on many MoD sites, Pinacl currently employ in excess of 200 security cleared engineers, project managers and technical experts to ensure compliance to several regulations and processes such as; JSP 440, JSP480, TEMPEST and CIDA. Pinacl fully understands the diverse and unique requirements of many defence organisations and takes advantage of many years of experience, strong technical knowledge and project management skills. - The implementation, management and maintenance of secure, extensive networks on multiple location sites.
- Technologically advanced security systems to protect traffic on the network infrastructure, data storage facilities and building access systems.
- The support of an "open architecture" and multiple-vendor networks as legacy equipment evolves and is replaced.
- Provide wireless and resilient technologies that can me used in remote locations and in possible combat situations.
- The cost efficiencies of intelligent ICT outsourcing and managed services.
- Future-proof, flexible and scalable infrastructure to easily adapt to organisational requirements as they evolve.
- Provide cost efficiencies of integrated converged networks.
- Restricted access and procedures of installing network infrastructure in protected and listed buildings.
- The importance of robust, resilient "critical" systems to support large scale departments.
- Successful management and provision of cost centre expenditure statistics and reporting.
- Support of numerous applications and multiple systems within a network.
Working within such a unique environment, Pinacl have successfully completed a number of ICT projects such as the LCDN project (Cogent), Northwood Barracks, RAF Waddington and Innsworth, but most notably designed and successfully implemented a complete ICT infrastructure in the award winning refurbishment of the MoD's "Main Building" in Whitehall, London. The project involved two stages of completion. Firstly, the provision of cabling to four temporary buildings, to allow 4000 personnel to be accommodated during the refurbishment. "Continuity of Sevice" and minimum disruption of "day to day" activities was a main priority for both Pinacl and the MoD. Utilising Pinacl's skills in project management and technical knowledge of the ICT network this was successfully achieved. Secondly, using Celsius Core™ - Pinacl's infrastructure management tool - Pinacl successfully managed the design and implementation of over 100,000 outlets and commissioned over 4 million meters of fibre optic and copper cable. During this project, Pinacl won the prestigious "Health & Safety Contractor Awards" for the project management work on implementation. | | Click here, to learn how Pinacl Solutions delivered the complete IT and communications infrastructure to the Ministry of Defence headquarters in Whitehall. | | | | | |
